WHAT IS A LEGAL TECHNICIAN ?
Limited License Legal Technicians (an LLLT or Legal Technician) are licensed by the Washington Supreme Court through the Washington State Bar Association. They advise and assist people going through divorce, child custody, relocation, child support issues, and other family law matters in Washington State.
Legal Technicians provide legal services in family law by consulting with and advising clients, completing and filing necessary court documents and assisting pro se clients at certain types of hearings and settlement conferences. They assist with court scheduling, reviewing and understanding legal documents received from the opposing party, and overall navigation of the legal system.
LLLTs are well trained, experienced, and competent licensed legal professionals. If you cannot afford an attorney or do not want attorneys involved in your case, a legal technician might be the perfect option for your family law matter.
